उन्हें धमकियां दी जा रही हैं उनके घर पर हमला भी किया गया अब उन्हें पार्टी से भी सस्पेंड करने की तैयारी चल रही है हालांकि सरिता गिरी अब भी अपने स्टैंड पर कायम है और सरकार के इस फैसले पर लगातार सवाल उठा रही है एक नक्शे के लिए संविधान में संशोधन का विरोध करने वाली सरिता गिरी का कसूर यह है कि उन्होंने सरकार से यह पूछ लिया कि किस आधार पर इन क्षेत्रों को नक्शे में शामिल किया जा रहा है

उन्होंने कहा कि कालापानी लिपुलेख और लिबिया धरा पर दावे के लिए सरकार के पास कोई आधार नहीं है उन्होंने कहा कि यह सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश के भी खिलाफ है जिसमें कहा गया है कि किसी राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक में बदलाव के लिए पर्याप्त आधार की आवश्यकता है सरकार ने इस विधेयक में नए नक्शे में शामिल किए जा रहे इलाकों को लेकर कोई आधार या सबूत नहीं दिया है उन्होंने कहा है कि नेपाल का सीमा विवाद तो चीन के साथ भी है
